A Blog about Football involving my attempt to find 101 ways to make football more interesting. It's not very serious, I leave that to Alan Shearer.

Kick Off.

There probably are more football blogs than there are footballers themselves. Definitely more than footballers who read them. I start this endeavour as I have long threatened to compose a tome called "101 ways to make football more interesting", introducing ideas far more radical than having video replays etc..

But it will be more than that, or well, less than that dear reader as I will attempt to bring football into sharp focus and to it's knees. Of course I won't, not even the BBC and the police have managed that, so in addition to the sporadic entries into the 101 ways... I will poke fun and rail against what's going on in the world football.

Like I say, there are probably loads of people out there doing this and I have made no attempt to see. Which is a character trait/flaw. Which is hopefully which will make people tune in. So about the author.

I'd rather see England win than my club Leeds. I support a club despite not being born five yards from the ground, I was born in the eighties and I saw them on telly. No-one in my family liked footballv so I picked them for two reasons.

A: I thought they played in or around Leeds Castle, near to where I was born. Obviously this was erroneous.

B: They were on telly a lot, if your going to support someone, you may as well support someone you can watch, right. And they looked pretty cool, McAllister, Strachan, Batty, Speed, Wallace, Cantona.

I support Leeds and don't hate Manchester United. I quite like it on the odd occasion we win, but don't hate them. I do however maintain a strong dislike of Spurs and Wolves.

The reason why I hate those two in particular is that I grew up listening to people saying they were a big club and that they would do things. Living in the Midlands I used to occasionally see Central Goals extra or whatever it was called. Every August Some bloke from Central would ask Jimmy Greaves who would win Division One. "Well you know Gary I think Wolves will do it this year" Wolves are rubbish and they play in a horrible colour. And I won't hear any different.

I hate Spurs because they always think they should be up there doing things and winning cups when really they should finish tenth and be happy with it.

This is irrational and completely biased, which is surely the basis of any kind of football support.

So hopefully this will become the Manchester United or Arsenal of Football Blogs. Incredibly Entertaining, loved by some, hated by others.
